Anna Bell Rather passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the age of 88. Anna was born on August 6, 1937, in Coalfield, TN to the late Hugh and Elizabeth Gouge. Anna was a member of New Fairview Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, playing with her cats and traveling. Anna was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents and husband Don Rather a brother George Gouge and a sister Betty Jane Gouge. Anna is survived by her daughters Linda (Danny) Cox of Oliver Springs, TN and Johanna (Steve) Henegar of Greenback, TN and grandchild Daniel (Brooke) Cox of Oak Ridge, TN. Brothers Millard Gouge of Louisiana and Marvin Liles of New York. Anna loved her family and always enjoyed spending time together.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. in the chapel at Sharp Funeral Home with the funeral following at 7:00 P.M. with Rev John Edwards officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton, TN.
