Obituary

Bob Phillips, age 80 of Oliver Springs, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Parkwest Medical Center.

Bob was born on November 9, 1944 in the New River community, the son of Oves and Delsie Phillips. He attended Rosedale School until his family moved to the Frost Bottom Community when he was around 10 years old. Many folks in our area would remember Bob from when he cooked and Managed Snow White Restaurant in Oak Ridge for many years. Later, he was employed through Oak Ridge National Laboratory until his retirement. Bob was of the Messianic Faith and placed his trust in Yeshua. He taught Bible classes at Morgan County Correctional Facility, and he loved to cook. Bob was a perfectionist and a jack of all trades.

In addition to getting family time he loved to keep a running list of projects that he liked to work on. He was a musician, cook, dry humorist, mechanic, carpenter, painter, friend, grandpa, husband and dad and could fix almost anything that was broken ... except a broken heart. Most every Friday night he could be found welcoming in the Lord's Sabbath and had a pack of prayer cards that he would read from in the mornings. Each morning was a new prayer card with a new thought to meditate on throughout the day. He really enjoyed hiking and exploring trails and forests. He also loved visiting with his good friends Debra Fox, Marie Arakawa, Marshall and Jamie Eisenstein, Jo and Cyrus Hayati and playing guitars with Michael and Monina Hooten.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oves and Delsie Phillips.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Clara Phillips; daughters, Barbara (Gary) Nolan, Carleen (Buddy) Wilson, Nykayla Williams; brothers, Odie Phillips and Freddie Phillips; sister, Cleda Harness; grandchildren, Brittany (Seth) Grindle, Casey (Josh Byrge) Webb, and Holly Webb; great-grandchildren, Coraline Grindle, Levi Hood, Jesse Webb, Ledger Webb Tinker, Oaklei Webb, and Finley Webb; step-children, Hassan Flowers and Stephence Flowers; step grandchildren, Nory Flowers, Demecia Starks, Nykayla Williams, Kiki Flowers, Keyna Flowers, Claybourne Flowers, Kai Flowers, Samuel Flowers, Sirius Flowers, Isaiah Flowers, Treaser Flowers, Stephenie Flowers, Elijah Flowers, Emmanuel Flowers, Chastity Flowers; special friend, Linda Huskey and many other special friends.
