Forest Hayden Lawson, Jr., age 74 of Oliver Springs passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Forest proudly served in the United States Navy and Retired from IBEW Local 270 after 50 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his grandchildren and restoring old Dodge trucks from the 70's and 80's.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest Hayden Lawson, Sr. and Sarah Wilma Woods Foraker; son, Eric Hayden Lawson and brother, Homer Dane Lawson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shellee Lawson; son, Daniel Wesley Lawson and wife Christina Lawson of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Tyler, Ariel, Kayla, Ryan and Natalie Lawson; siblings, Carolyn and Tom Murphy, Wanda and Glenn Williams, Mike and Judy Lawson, Daryl Lawson, and Jackie Holland; sisters-in-law, Diane and Ken Schneider, Victoria and Art Spencer, and Lou Lawson; brother-in-law, Ron Alston.

Visitation is from 3-4 pm on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs. Graveside service with Military Honors will immediately follow at Woods Cemetery in Coalfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS Association at ALS.org.
