Fred Perry, age 82, a resident of Oak Ridge and formerly of Oliver Springs, passed away Monday, August 12th at his home with his family whom he loved. He died from complications from medical illnesses.
Fred was born November 1941 in Oliver Springs. He finished high school in Oliver Springs in 1959. Following his high school time, he worked in various construction projects and learned the trade of machine operator and worked up to construction engineer. He worked for various well-known companies in the local area and abroad during his 65-year career. Fred enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and other outdoor activities and never missed a western TV show.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Perry and his mother, Flossie (Gaylor) Perry; brothers Jess (JR) Perry, William (Bill) Perry, sisters; Evelyn (Perry) Jones, Nancy (Perry) Armes and Mary (Perry) Armes. Son; Timothy (Brad) Perry of Knoxville, Tn.
He is survived by his wife, Carol L Perry of Oak Ridge; sons Randall W (Randy) Perry and wife, Karen of Oliver Springs, Anthony A (Tony) Perry and wife, Leigh of Clarksville, Tn. He is also survived by his sister Shirley (Perry) Barnum and Jack of Lancing Michigan. Fred had eight grandchildren; Krista (Perry) Blankenship husband Mike of Clarksville; Randall Perry and fiancé Krista of Oliver Springs, Anthony A (TJ) Perry Jr. and wife Jasmine of Clarksville, Tn; Roger (Tyler) Perry and wife Destinee of Anchorage, Ak.; Kyle Hutton of Madison, Tn. Jordan B Perry, Taylor M Perry, Kaitlyn E Perry and Anastasia Amyx all of Knoxville, Tn. He also had five great grandchildren, several loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends at the senior center.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 15, 2024, between the hours of 5 and 6 pm., the funeral will follow at 6pm at Premier Sharp Funeral home of Oliver Springs. There will not be a graveside event.
