Glenda Lou Dunlap (Hammonds), age 80 of Oliver Springs, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021. She was born in Coalgood, Kentucky, and migrated to east Tennessee as a young girl. She was a graduate of Oliver Springs High School where she was Miss Oliver Springs High and head majorette. Glenda possessed a tenacious, enduring nature and an infectious laugh that could light up a room. She was known for saying "kiss my grits" on a regular basis and was an avid reader. Glenda loved spending time with her large family and animal companions Ripley and Minerva. One of Glenda's favorite pastimes was to watch soap operas and drinking sweet tea with her mother. Glenda will be remembered as a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was blessed with three brothers (Kenneth Hammonds, Larry Hammonds, and Owen 'Buddy' Hammonds); three children (Joel Dunlap, Mattie Stanton, and David Dunlap); seven grandchildren (Charles 'David' Dunlap, Rachel Williams, Felicia Sharp, Joshua Stanton, Carleen Dunlap, Leah Dunlap, and Kenzie Hardwick); and eight great grandchildren (Lance Sharp, Camren Sharp, Aliza Dunlap, Kynlee Dunlap, Raven Langley, Kambria Langley, Kyler Langley, and Jack Williams) - all of whom will miss her dearly. Glenda was preceded in death by her father (Owen Hammonds), mother (Mattie Hammonds), brother (Larry Hammonds), and daughter (Mattie Stanton). The family will hold a graveside service at Anderson Memorial Gardens at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Glenda was fond of her fur babies and would appreciate donations to a local animal shelter in her name.   Premier Sharp Funeral Home is proud to serve the Dunlap family.
