James Thomas Brown passed away April 14, 2025 at the age of 70. He was born in Oliver Springs at Dr. Stone's Castle. The fourth of eight children born to Cleopatra and John Brown Jr. James (JT) was employed at MESA for 23 years and before that, he worked at TVA.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Brown. Also, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Pauline Bryant; brother-in-law, Johnny Bryant, his wife Anita, and their daughter, Cindy.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie of 42 years and daughter, Melissa Burgess Swanson. Also survived by his grandchildren: Jackie, Finn, and Kate who he dearly loved spending time with.

Survived by sisters and brothers: Mary Sue (Gary) Leagan, Shirley Sweeten, Linda (Terry) Gilmore, John Brown, Daniel Brown, Edgar (Diana) Brown. Also by brother-in-law, CR (Donna) Bryant and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. A graveside will immediately follow at Oliver Springs Cemetery with Lee Sweeten officiating.
