John H. Lethgo passed away October of 2019 with his family by his side at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge. He was born September 23, 1938 to parents, Robert Lethgo and Bessie Goodman Lethgo, in Ballcamp, TN-Knox Co.He attended Ballcamp Elementary and Karns High School. In 1955 he joined the U.S. Navy and served our country for 20+ years, retiring in 1975. He was a combat war Veteran. After retiring from the Navy, he moved to Oliver Springs, TN and has lived there since. He was a man of many trades. He was most proud of the years that he served in the Navy and the years that he worked at ME&T. He loved the ones he worked with and considered them his extended family. John was of the Baptist faith. He always looked forward to Saturdays and his hobbies included long car rides and exploring new places to see and most importantly, new places to eat.John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Zane and Doug Lethgo; sister, Bertha Helibert; niece, Katie Lethgo; 2 stepchildren, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.He is survived by his wife, Kay Lethgo, stepchildren, grandkids, and great-grandkids. 2 sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.Family members will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Young, Jerry Orr, and all the employees (past and present) of ME&T.A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, November 1, 2019 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Highway 168, Knoxville, TN with Rev.
