Kathryn Frederick Sanders, age 72, of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Kathy was born in Albany, New York, the middle child of Bernard and Greta Frederick.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Gertrude; by her parents, Bernie and Greta; by her son, Rex; by her siblings Dean, Raymond, Bruce, and Jeanne.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Thad, and by her loving son, Dillon, and his partner Kelley Parker; by her sister, Maggie Jenkins; and by her brother, Michael. Many surviving nieces and nephews include the following: Helen Goate, Rachael and Michael Accavitti, Ashleigh Brown, Samantha Lamb, Don and Hilari Frederick, Paige and Meg Sanders, Catnip, Eli, and Desarae Frederick, Emma, Forrest, Milo, Felix, Harper, Grant, Paxten, and Zander. Also her lifelong, and dear friends, Bo and David Adaline and their son Travis and daughter Christi Fulford.

Kathy has many former ORHS friends who will recall her quick wit and easy laughter from decades ago. She attended UT Knoxville before having careers at Pathway Bellows in Oak Ridge and at PetSafe in Knoxville; she retired a few years ago to nourish her beautiful gardens filled with impatiens, azalea, ferns, gerbera, pansy, Christmas cacti...and busy bird feeders. Kathy and Thad hosted regular happy, crowded, outdoor grilling parties for family and friends. She was a consummate cook and family mediator.

Thad knows that the world has lost an angel. She will be sorely missed by her loved ones and anyone she held dear to her.

Visiation will be from from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs.
