Obituary

Larry Dana Ward (Doubey), age 77, a resident of Frost Bottom in Anderson County, passed away at Methodist Medical Center on September 1, 2024. Doubey was born March 20, 1947 in Devonia, TN.

Doubey loved to laugh and make others around him laugh as well. He was a kind gentle soul who loved his family and friends. He was a daredevil at heart who loved doing tricks on any motorcycle or bicycle. He loved hunting, fishing, playing harmonica and piano, forging for ramps, herbs and natural medicine for any type of ailment. He was an incredible one of a kind man, that was loved dearly by many. He was a skilled and talented carpenter, an amazing storyteller as well as a tremendous movie buff.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Dana Ward and mother, Effie Ward; Grandparents: Laura and Walter Bunch; Brother, Harvey Ward; Brothers-in-law: Greg (Porky) Melton, Brian Melton, Harold Compton, Jeffrey Melton; sister-in-law, Edna Melton.

Doubey is survived by his wife, Linda Gayle Ward; Children: Timothy Ward and wife Jennifer, Wendy Armes and husband Randy, and Jacob Ward. Grandchildren: Sebastian and wife Christan, Caleb, Trinity, Katie and husband Francis, Canaan, Isaiah, and Madilyn; Sisters: Genevieve Compton, Patrica Kees and husband Bill, Jerry Ward andTina; many nieces and nephews; Great granddaughter, Victoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Premier Sharp Funeral Home to help the Ward family with funeral exspenses.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 - 7 pm on Friday, September 6th, 2024 at Premier Sharp Funeral Home with funeral immediately after at 7pm. Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 7th at Union Valley Baptist Church on Windrock Rd, Oliver Springs, TN 37840.
