McNoel "Mac" Slack, age 75 of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 4, 2021.He was born on July 21, 1946 in Hamilton County, Tennessee but has lived in the Oliver Springs area for the majority of his life. Mac was a long-time member of Community Baptist Church. He worked at Beaty Chevrolet for over 30 years and was a former City Councilman for Oliver Springs. Mac enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing.He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Pearl Slack; brother, Harold Slack; great niece, Brittney Armes.Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda Slack; daughter, Jereé Denise Slack Conley and her husband Nick; grandchildren, Bret Stewart, Tayler Contreras and her husband Martin; brother, Charles Slack and his wife Judy; sister, Patsy Gallaher and her husband Allen; great-grandchildren, Lili and Bella Contreras; sister-in-law, Arlene Slack; special friends, Gary and Karen Massengale; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends who Mac loved dearly.The Slack family would like to especially thank the staff of Summit Medical, Thompson Cancer Center, Methodist Medical Center, and his hospice care nurse, Cindy Gallaher.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Community Baptist Church, P.O. Box 367, Oliver Springs, TN 37840 and/or www.lungcancerresearchfoundation.org.The family will receive friends from 10-12 noon on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Community Baptist Church. A funeral service will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Robert Combs officiating and Bro. Jim White officiating.
