Rex Sanders, age 36, of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024.  He was born in Knoxville, TN, the eldest of two children of Thad and Kathy Sanders.

Rex is preceded in death by his grandparents, Merwyn and June Sanders, and Bernard and Greta Frederick. His preceding aunts and uncles include:  Dallas James, Raymond Frederick, Dean Frederick, and Bruce Frederick.

Rex is survived by his loving parents, Kathy and Thad, and by his brother, Dillon and Kelley. His aunts and uncles include:  Maggie Jenkins, Debbie Frederick, Jeanne Frederick, Michael Frederick, Scott and Sherry Sanders. Cousins include:  Helen Goate, Rachael and Michael Accavitti, Ashleigh Brown, Samantha Lamb, Don and Hilari Frederick, Paige and Meg Sanders, Catnip and Eli Frederick . Nieces and nephews include Emma, Forrest, Milo, Felix, Harper, Grant, Paxton, and Zander.

Rex became proficient at pizza making and practiced his craft at several pizza establishments in Oak Ridge. He was most recently employed by Michael Dunn Center, supporting individuals with disabilities and challenges—a job that he loved! Rex's family and friends remember him as an outgoing, fearless, and kind person who never met a stranger. He was "unique," "the coolest bright light!" And he will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
