Sammie Lou Tillery Mead, age 91 of Oliver Springs, went to Heaven to be with her Lord on January 1, 2021 at her daughter's home with her by her side.She was born on January 23, 1929 in Knoxville to the late Walter Clifford Tillery and Ruth Anne Russell. Sammie was a member of First Baptist Church and was a dedicated Christian, wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught school at Oliver Springs for over 30 years and enjoyed hiking and camping. Although Sammie loved all sports, she was a devoted fan of the Tennessee Volunteers.Sammie was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, GA Mead Jr.; brothers, Jim and Richard Tillery.She is survived by her daughter, Debra Mead Campbell and husband Mike; grandchildren, Alishia Miller and husband Shane, Amy Williams and husband Travis; great-grandchildren, Shana Miller, Jake Miller, Bryce, Trent, and Callan Williams; special care giver and friend, Cathy Keathley.A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Pastor Kenny Rains officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church Angel Tree Ministry and/or Mt.
