Woody Ray Duncan, born December 20, 1951, passed away on February 25, 2026.
Woody was a long-time resident of Oliver Springs, TN.
He is preceded in death by his father Kyle E. Duncan, and mother Lois F. Duncan along with brothers: Eddie, Steve and Roger.
Woody is survived by his children Angela Cater, Woody Kyle Duncan (Angel) and John Duncan (Suzanne). Woody leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Terry Duncan (Connie) and a sister Lisa Smith (Jimmy) along with several nieces and nephews.
Woody served in the active-duty Army from 1969 – 1981. He also served in the Tennessee National Guard from 1981 – 1988. He served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was awarded many medals, including the Silver Star. Woody worked in the coal mines and was a long-haul truck driver for many years. He enjoyed anything outdoors, along with hunting and fishing.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Garvin Walls officiating.
Woody will receive full Military Honors when he is laid to rest on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
