As a Funeral Home Manager, Pre-Need Planning and Education Director, Licensed Funeral Director, and Embalmer, Christopher’s career spans 47 years of compassionate service across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
The path to this life of service began in childhood. At just 8 or 10 years old, while attending the funeral of his grandfather, Christopher was deeply moved by the quiet strength, dignity, and care shown by the funeral staff. That moment shaped his destiny. Even as a child, he knew—“I want to be like them.”
He followed that path with devotion, earning an Associate Degree from Gupton‑Jones College of Mortuary Science and furthering his training through The Foundation of Funeral Service. He also holds a Diploma in Paralegal Studies, a Certificate of Completion from The Bottom Line Accounting Program, Served several years on a North Carolina County Board of Health as well as the position of Board Chairman, He is a licensed insurance agent in North Carolina and Tennessee, this affords him the ability to help all the community members with pre-planning and paying for funeral, memorial services and special events in advance of need, Chris is qualified to offer families support with their end‑of‑life and estate planning documents as well. Today, as Manager and Owner of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Christopher continues to lead with empathy and excellence, setting a standard in both professionalism and personal care.
Faith, Family, and Values
While his career has been one of profound impact, Christopher attributes much of his success and character to his wife, Suzy—the woman he met during his college years and still calls the love of his life. Her warmth, strength, and kindness have not only shaped him but have also left lasting impressions on everyone she encounters. Together, they have raised two sons and take joy in their three grandsons, all residing in North Carolina.
Christopher’s guiding principles are rooted in his Christian faith, the wisdom of great thinkers, and the enduring truth of the Rotary Four‑Way Test:

Is it Fair to All Concerned?
Will it Build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to All Concerned?
These values are more than ideals—they are the compass of his daily life. Among his personal inspirations is his late Uncle David, who, nearing the end of his life, expressed his wish not merely to be missed, but to be remembered by three simple words: Honesty, Integrity, and Service. Christopher has carried that torch ever since.

Matthew Schroeder is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer with over 27 years of experience serving families with compassion, dignity, and professionalism. A 1999 graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College, Matthew has dedicated his career to guiding families through loss with care, integrity, and personalized service.
Since May 2025, Matt has been serving families at Sharp Funeral Home, where he continues his mission of providing respectful and meaningful funeral care. Known for his calm presence and attention to detail, he brings empathy and professionalism to every family he serves.
Beyond his work in funeral service, Matt is also deeply involved in his local community as a high school soccer coach. He spent nine seasons as an assistant coach at Campbell County High School, followed by two seasons at Knox Central, and is now in his first season with the boys' and girls' teams at Heritage High School. His passion for mentorship and youth development is evident both on and off the field.
Matt lives in Campbell County with his wife, Kelly Schroeder, and their children, Ethan, Mickinze, and Braley Schroeder. Whether supporting families in times of need or guiding student-athletes on the soccer field, Matt is proud to serve his community with heart, dedication, and purpose.

With over 18 years of experience in the financial industry, I’ve built a strong foundation in client relations, organizational management, and administrative operations. In October 2024, I transitioned into the funeral service profession and currently serve as the Office Manager and Apprentice Funeral Director at Sharp Funeral Home.
In my role, I oversee daily office operations, coordinate service details, and provide direct support to both staff and families. I manage scheduling, maintain accurate records, file life insurance claims on behalf of families, and ensure that all documentation is handled with care and confidentiality. I also assist in coordinating every aspect of funeral and memorial services, helping ensure that each one is carried out with dignity, precision, and respect.
My extensive financial background enhances my ability to manage complex administrative tasks, solve problems efficiently, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. I am deeply committed to supporting families through one of life’s most difficult times, offering a compassionate presence and dependable assistance every step of the way.

Ed Adcock is a funeral assistant and a licensed pre-need agent who has been at Sharp Funeral Home since 2007. Ed provides funeral directors with whatever support may be needed in the process of serving families with dignity and respect. Ed also writes pre-need insurance policies to help families plan. Before joining the Sharp Funeral Home family, Ed served in the Air Force for over 25 years before retiring and working in sales for 23 years. His biggest contributions are his loyalty and his ability to work as a team player. In his free time, Ed enjoys riding his motorcycle, watching a Cubs game, and following the UT Volunteers.
